Useful Information and Traditions
Morning Routines at Lake Pointe Elementary:
Each morning, we say pledges to our U.S. Flag and to the Texas Flag. After the announcements, mornings are sacred for morning class meetings that focus on social/emotional lessons delivered by our classroom teachers using our district-adopted Second Step curriculum. Morning meetings also focus on our Lake Pointe Life Skills that we believe embody core characteristics to develop and recognize empathy, grit, resilience, responsibility, a sense of humor, and so much more in our young learners.
Celebrating Birthdays at Lake Pointe Elementary:
Each student will receive a birthday treat card to be redeemed in the cafeteria on the day of his/her birthday, or on the first instructional day following your child's birthday.
Eagle Awards:
Eagle Awards are given to students who demonstrate quality Lake Pointe Life Skill character traits during the month. Staff nominate one student from each class that exemplifies the Life Skill recognized. We introduce a new Life Skill every two weeks, so two students will be selected to receive this award each month. The students will be honored on the last Friday of each month during morning announcements. Parents are notified by the classroom teacher if their child is being honored.
Tuesday Folders:
Each Tuesday, our teachers send home a Tuesday folder. This is one of our ways we can communicate with all parents about useful information or events that are coming up. Most information will be sent electronically through our website. You can access campus or district-wide information and flyers through our electronic platform, PeachJar. Following registration, each parent is automatically opted in to receive these electronic alerts through an email alert. Just click on our website and you will see the PeachJar link. Thanks and think green!
